A Brief Introduction To The Grounding Rod
Leave a message
Conductors or combinations of conductors buried in the earth in order to connect with the earth are called earth electrodes. A grounding electrode is a metal conductor or group of conductors in direct contact with the soil, which is divided into artificial grounding poles and natural grounding electrodes. The earth electrode acts as a conductor that comes into close contact with the earth's soil and provides an electrical connection with the earth, safely dispersing the lightning energy into the earth.
The earth electrode is in full contact with the earth to achieve the connection with the earth electrode, in the electrical engineering, the ground electrode is made of multiple 2.5M long, 45X45mm galvanized angle steel, nailed to the bottom of the 800mm deep ditch, and then led out with the lead wire.
The characteristics of the grounding project itself determine the influence of the surrounding environment on the project effect, and it is not feasible to design the grounding project without the specific conditions of the project location. Factors such as soil resistivity, soil structure, water content and constructable area determine the shape, size and process material selection of the grounding network. Therefore, when designing the artificial grounding electrode, the design should be carried out as accurately as possible according to the geological conditions such as soil resistivity and soil layer distribution where the ground network is located.
The grounding electrode, also known as the grounding body, is a metal conductor or group of conductors in direct contact with the soil, which is divided into artificial grounding electrode and natural grounding electrode. The earth electrode acts as a conductor that comes into close contact with the earth's soil and provides an electrical connection with the earth, safely dispersing the lightning energy into the earth.
Grounding is the most important link in lightning protection engineering, whether it is direct lightning protection or lightning static induction, electromagnetic induction and lightning wave intrusion protection technology, ultimately send lightning current into the earth. Therefore, without good grounding technology, it is impossible to have a qualified lightning protection process. The role of protecting the ground is to make a good metal connection between the uncharged metal part of the electrical equipment and the ground electrode, reduce the ground voltage of the contact, and avoid the danger of electric shock of the human body.
